An architect by training, Vivek is a transformation leader, who served his entire working career with the Tata Group, driving functions like Culture and Organisational Transformation, Business Excellence and Sustainability, and in the process, embedding a deep sense of understanding and ownership of these roles into the mindset of leaders across all levels. Vivek is a certified Baldrige Assessor, having been trained in NIST USA, and as a senior Team Leader and Mentor, has led and mentored multi-organisational teams to provide developmental feedback to reputed organisations in India, Europe, N America, S Korea, MENA and SE Asia.
Today, Vivek is a transformation consultant, running his own Goa based consulting firm, and is an Impossible Transformations facilitator, helping organisations craft their journeys of culture by design, envisioning and sustainability. Some of the organisations where Vivek has facilitated modules on these areas are various Tata Group companies, Mahindra Partners, Renew Power, Adani Group, KPMG India.
Vivek is on the Board of various not-for-profit organisations (Antarang Foundation, Head Held High, CSCAPES – a Tata Chemicals Initiative) in the space of social development and environmental conservation, and is a lead facilitator for inculcating an understanding of sustainability among independent directors, in programs run by the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India).
A nature and landscape photographer by passion, (Instagram: @vivektalwarphotography), Vivek has undertaken expeditions to remote places on the planet like Antarctica, the Arcitc, the Peruvian Amazon, Patagonia and the rain forests of Borneo, and uses these experiences to drive home the message on climate change and environment conservation. Vivek has spent one year in the temperate wilderness of the Canadian National Parks, working as a naturalist, learning and sharing concepts of nature interpretation. Vivek now runs a boutique, eco-sensitive homestay based in Goa, hosting people from across the planet, pursuing his purpose, and also tinkers in his spare time in his workshop making chimes and sun catchers by upcycling waste material.
